The Castle
The Château de Blavou
Between History and Heritage
Located in the heart of the Perche in Normandy, france, the Chateau de Blavou is an area steeped in history, where the architecture and nature come together in a majestic setting. Its origin dates back to the Middle Ages, and over the centuries, it has survived the times, transforming to become the mansion that we discover today.

The toponym " Blavou "
The toponym "Blavou" refers to the ancient forest of the same name, which once covered this region of the Pole. Since the Twelfth century, a fortin, surrounded by a moat stood on this land, inhabited by the lords of Blavou. This first castle evolves in the Fifteenth century, under the impulse of the probable family of Loysel (or Loysail), to whom we owe the construction (or reconstruction) of a logis medieval, which remain today a spiral staircase of stone, vaulted cellars and remains on the rear of the present castle.
